To recap, PSP 7.0 included, along with its raster-graphics function, a limited vector-graphics feature for designing scalable Web content, including rollovers for buttons, image maps and animation. This kind of competition is most welcome at a time when digital photography is coming into its own as a popular hobby. Now Jasc has returned fire with the 10th Anniversary Edition of PSP, essentially the same as PSP 7.0, released a year ago, but with a whole bunch of new tools to leapfrog PhotoShop Elements. But as Paint Shop Pro's market grew - mostly thanks to a limited free version available at Jasc's Web site - Adobe responded with a similarly priced and similarly powered product, PhotoShop Elements, earlier this year. It's been fascinating to watch Jasc Software and Adobe Systems in their competition over the digital imaging market.įor some years Adobe ruled the high end of that market with PhotoShop, and left the low end to Jasc's Paint Shop Pro.
